3rd Lesson! Flash – Color Panel – Desktop

Dear Members,

We will see color panel in brief.

  1. Open Flash
  2. You will find the color panel at the right top corner of the desktop.
  3. It is used for the regular objectives like changing stroke color, fill etc.
  4. There is a drop down menu at the top right corner of the color panel.
  5. This provides the option for solid, linear, radial and bitmap fill.
  6. Select Linear.
  7. You get the gradient fill type where you can select different color to create your own linear fill.
  8. Select Radial.
  9. You get the radial type of fill option where you can create your own radial fill.
  10. Select solid to fill single color.
  11. Select None to fill no color.
  12. We will see Bitmap option afterwards.

2nd Lesson! Flash – Property Inspector – Desktop – Part 2

Dear Members,

Let us study property inspector. As mentioned in previous lesson, it displays the options for the selected tool.

  1. Open Flash.
  2. Once you open the new file you will get property Inspector at the bottom.
  3. If not, go to Windows > Properties > Properties
  4. On top left, you will find three tabs, called Panel Group Tabs.
  5. They are “Properties, Filters, Parameters”.
  6. “Properties” is selected by default.
  7. The main portion of the property inspector is occupied by the currently selected tool properties and options.
  8. You can again check out this by selecting Rectangle tool from tool bar.
  9. Property Inspector will display the options and property for the selected tool.
  10. Extreme left will display the icon of the selected tool.

1st Lesson! Flash – Desktop

Hello,

Welcome to Flash . Let us begin with the first lesson where we will have a brief introduction of the flash desktop.

  1. Open Flash.
  2. The typical flash desktop consist of tool bar attached to the left.
  3. Timeline at the top, below menu bar.
  4. Library palette towards lower right corner.
  5. Color palette at the top right corner.
  6. Please remember that the flash has its own language. They call “Panels” to “palettes”
  7. Go to Windows > Hide Panels or press F4
  8. All the panels disappeared.
  9. Bring them back by clicking Windows > Show Panels or pressing F4 again.
  10. The main rectangular default white colored area is called “Stage” where you will be doing all your animations.
  11. Property bar is at the bottom and its called “Property Inspector” in flash.
  12. Just click on Rectangle tool in the tool bar.
  13. You will notice that property inspector displays the options available for rectangle tool.
  14. We will be covering most general features in the coming lessons so that everyone having different versions of flash will be benefited with these lessons.
